🔥❄️ Holiday Safety Starts with Warmth Done Right! ❄️🔥

12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety - Day 10

Heating equipment keeps us cozy during the holidays—but if used unsafely, it can lead to disaster. Stay warm and worry-free with these tips:

Schedule an annual check-up. Have your heating system, vents, and chimneys inspected and cleaned by a qualified technician.
Professional installation matters. Woodstoves, fireplaces, and inserts should always be installed by a certified pro.
Use a fire screen. Keep sparks where they belong—inside the fireplace.
Cool ashes completely. Store them in a metal container with a tight lid, outside your home.
Plug space heaters directly into wall outlets. Never use extension cords.
Turn off heaters when you leave the room.
Install a carbon monoxide alarm. It’s your best defense against invisible danger.

🎁 A cozy room should never cost you your home, your holiday, or your life.
Protect your loved ones. Protect your home. Together, let’s keep Ontario safe this holiday season!

From communities across the province—here’s to a warm, joyful, and fire-safe holiday!
