VoyentAlert! is a notification service, provided by the Municipality of Callander, that is used to send personalized alerts about emergencies and day-to-day community notices, activities, and events.
Messages are sent by municipal staff and are tailored specifically for the residents of Callander. With this service, you will only receive messages that concern the Municipality of Callander.
In 2021, the Municipality heard from its taxpayers that there are communication barriers in our community. In the 2022 Strategic Plan, Council made communication to its taxpayers a priority, to ensure that everyone has access to important municipal information, including road closures, emergencies, fire bans, etc., but also an ability to stay up to date on events and recreational opportunities in Callander, to encourage gathering and socialization. To ensure staff were adequately supported in providing a better communication method to the residents, funds were allocated in the 2022 budget. After careful review and consideration, Council has chosen to proceed with VoyentAlert!, an alerting system that works by way sending information over the phone, by text or by e-mail. Taxpayers will have an opportunity to receive information of their choosing, which will be updated as the Municipality gets more familiar with the program. What You Can Expect
Personalized Communications: VoyentAlert! provides informative communications. Critical information such as the distance and direction from an incident, and preferred evacuation routes from your followed locations may be provided.
Follow Multiple Locations: VoyentAlert! allows you to create and follow multiple locations such as “Kid’s School” or “Mom’s House”. Any event or communication related to your followed location will be forwarded to you along your preferred communication channel.
Communications Your Way: Receive alerts over a wide variety of communication channels including mobile apps, text/SMS alerting, email or voice dial. You can register for one or more communication channels.
No Message Fatigue: Smart alerting capabilities ensure that you will only get notified when a communication is relevant to your or one of the locations you are following.
Easy Registration: Registration for the service is FREE, simple an anonymous.
How to Register:
You can register for alerts in four different ways: via the app, by text, by email, or by voice call. You can register for as many of these options as you like, although at this time you must register for each notification method separately.

If you would like to use Voyent Alert! on your smartphone download and install the Voyent Alert! mobile application from the Apple Store, or the Google Play Store. Follow the instructions within the app.
Register to Receive Notifications by Text, Email, or Phone Call
If you would like to recieve text, email, or phone call noitifications, visit our web based registration page by clicking HERE. After you enter your information, a confirmation code will be sent to the phone number, or email provided. Be sure to have your phone, or email, handy when registering. Once you enter the confirmation code, registration is complete.

DOES VOYENT ALERT! COLLECT USER PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Registration is anonymous, and no information volunteered or derived is shared or used for marketing or data harvesting purposes. Locational information from your tracked locations is only used to determine its proximity to an alert event and to provide critical context within the communications (such as distance and direction). Registrants need not enter more than a postal code and phone number or email address. No personal information such as name, address, personal status etc. is required.

If you need help with registering you can visit the Callander Public library, call the Municipal office, or come into the Municipal office. The staff at the Library or the Municipal office will be happy to assist you.
