The Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a Flood Warning for Lake Temagami, the Upper Ottawa River (including Mattawa), and Lake Nipissing.

The warning is in effect until Friday, May 8, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

Water levels remain high due to ongoing snowmelt. Flooding is occurring in some areas and may occur in others. Additional rises in water levels are expected over the next several days.

Residents are advised to:

• Use extreme caution near lakes, rivers, creeks, and streams
• Keep children and pets away from water
• Monitor properties in low‑lying or flood‑prone areas
• Be aware that shorelines are slippery and unstable, and cold, fast‑moving water is dangerous

Conditions can change quickly. Continue to monitor local forecasts and flood updates.
