RE: Callander Encourages Drivers to “Take it Slow’ This May
Callander, Ontario — As the warmer weather returns, the Municipality of Callander is reminding
drivers to “Take it Slow” and watch their speed on local streets throughout the month of May.
“With the arrival of spring, we’re seeing more people out walking, biking, and enjoying everything
our community has to offer,” said Mayor Robb Noon. “Safety is a shared responsibility, and
we’re encouraging everyone behind the wheel to slow down and be mindful. Let’s make sure
Callander stays a safe and welcoming place for everyone this season.”
Callander’s summer season kicks off with Pitch In and Spring Clean Up this Saturday, followed
by FunFest on June 28 and Sirens in the Park on August 16. Large crowds are expected at
these events.
The Take it Slow for Callander campaign is in its third year and will run throughout May. The
Municipality will be sharing messages across its social media channels to encourage safe
driving.
To further promote road safety, speeding sensor signs have been placed along Main Street, and
residents can expect increased police presence throughout the campaign.
Let’s all take a moment to slow down—for our neighbours, our families, and the whole Callander
community.
