Flooding Update - Lakewater Levels

The Municipality continues to closely monitor lake water levels.

Lake levels are currently just below the damage threshold, and we recognize that many residents may already be experiencing concerns along the shoreline. While levels remain high, current observations indicate they are reaching a plateau and are expected to begin declining soon, provided we continue to receive little to no additional rainfall.

Precautions and Sandbags

Residents are reminded that sand and sandbags are available free of charge and may be picked up at:

  • Operations Yard – Nipissing
  • South Shore Community Centre – Hwy 654

Residents are encouraged to take whatever precautions they feel are necessary to protect their properties. This may include:

  • Ensuring docks are securely tied off
  • Moving hazardous materials, loose items, and debris away from shorelines
  • Securing objects that could be carried into the lake or nearby streams by elevated water levels

Municipal staff will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as needed.
