The application was for 73.33% of the total $6.4 million of the cost to build a modern 10,000 square foot facility to replace the existing library and provide a community hub.
The intake of this funding stream was highly competitive, and total demand reached upwards of $10 billion against total available joint funding (federal-provincial-applicant) of nearly $1 billion.
The library’s fundraising committee will continue to explore alternative funding sources for the new library.
