Trial Transportation Service

The one year Trial Transportation Service is commenced on Monday July 6, 2009. The bus follows one route which contains a total of nine pick-up and drop-off points:

1. Wasi Garage(behind the garage near the dumpsters)
2. Main Street South (at the bus shelter across from Sunbeam Pottery)
3. Callander Credit Union (at the bus shelter)
4. Artisan Mall (at the bus shelter)
5. Esso Gas Bar (first entrance)
6. North Bay Mall (on the sidewalk just past the Galaxy Cinema)
7. Memorial Gardens (in the parking lot near the YMCA Loop)
8. Wal-Mart (on the sidewalk just past the main entrance)
9. Nipissing University (at the main entrance just before the city transit stop)

The price of one trip is $5.00, for that reason the smallest ticket denomination is $10.00, which will allow for one round trip; the second bus pass option is $40.00 and allows for four round trips. This does not mean passengers are required to use all of their rides on the same day or the same week. The bus passes will not expire prior to July 6, 2010.

Please be aware that children 10 years old and younger will be able to ride the bus free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Please remember that a school bus is being used for the duration of the trial period and that riders must purchase their bus passes in advance; the bus drivers are not equipped to take cash payments on the bus. Bus Passes can be purchased at any of the following locations:

• The Municipal Office - 280 Main Street North
• Lucky 13 - 102 Main Street North
• Wasi Variety - 2506C Hwy. 94
• The Tea Garden - 980 Main Street North

Please ensure that you have enough trips on your bus pass for a return trip, as at this time there are no bus pass distributors in North Bay.

Bus passes must be presented to the bus driver upon entry to the bus. The bus driver will then "punch" one of the leaves on the bus pass. The rider will then be able to ride the bus along the provided route and exit at any of the designated drop-off points. Should you require the transportation service for your return trip another leaf will be punched. Once all of the leaves on your bus pass have been punched out the card can be thrown away and a new bus pass purchased. These passes cannot be redeemed for cash at any time.
