Administrative Services

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)/Clerk performs all of the statutory duties of the Municipal Clerk as set out in the Municipal Act, 2001. In addition, the CAO/Clerk manages all of the affairs of the municipality for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the municipality across all of its departments.

Other members of the Administration department provide Council with an administrative support function, managing the correspondence of the Municipality, maintaining municipal records, processing requests from citizens for a variety of applications, permits and other services. Telephone, reception, website posting of meetings and events, counter service, along with the issuance of various licences, is also provided by the Administration unit. The Administration unit works closely with the Treasury unit in the processing of payments and assists with the preparation of annual Budgets of the Municipality.
