Mayor's Message

It was my honour and pleasure to be the Mayor of Callander from 2001 through 2003. A time when we changed the name of our home from the Township of North Himsworth to the Municipality of Callander. The community of Callander decided that we wanted to focus on nurturing our town's pride, spirit, and growth while still preserving the quality of life. Part of achieving this goal was to create a new a Strategic Plan, which was to act as our template for growth then and into the future.

I am privileged to once again be serving the community of Callander in the role of Mayor. My current term extends from 2007 to 2010, during this time the Council plans to move a significant number of capital projects through to completion. I am pleased to announce that when planning new projects and improvements within the community, the Council, Municipal Staff, and Committees all first verify that the pending projects are in line with the Strategic Plan.

Family values, community spirit and absolutely beautiful sunsets are at the core of what makes Callander a great place to live, work and play. It is an honour to be the Mayor of Callander, but I feel most privileged just to be able to live here.

Callander has many entrepreneurs and I value their ingenuity and the unique atmosphere they are able to create. They are a major part of what makes our community so perfect and I look forward to new businesses and industries joining us.

Callander and all it has to offer are my "Reasons for All Seasons".
