The Alex Dufresne Art Gallery is comfortably placed at the museum, where it houses several exhibitions each year supporting the artistic talents of local and area artists. It is named after Alex Dufresne, a well known barber and collector of fine antiques and artifacts, he was very influencial on opening the museum.CURRENTLY ON DISPLAY

Winter Scenes 4th Annual Christmas Art Show
On display from November to December 2010. Our 3rd Annual Juried Group Show featured some of the best work by artists from throughout the region. A series of forms of art including photography, linens and clothing, paintings, samples, and loom and spinning displays ran from May 8, 2010 to June 26, 2010. This beautiful, unique display was a great success and we thank those who participated.Art Gallery Submissions
Mission Statement: The Mission of the Alex Dufresne Gallery, part of the Callander Bay Heritage Museum, is to promote awareness and appreciation of the visual arts through the operation, development, and growth of this public, not-for-profit art gallery.
Mandate: The Alex Dufresne Gallery is a public, not-for-profit art gallery that is generously supported by the Municipality of Callander, patrons, and artists alike. Through the efforts of its volunteers and staff, the Alex Dufresne Gallery will achieve its mission by exhibiting local artists residing within a 50km radius of Callander, and by organizing educational programs to stimulate knowledge and interest in the visual arts. The Gallery will carry out its mandate in accordance with professional museum standards and practices.
Submission Guidelines: Submissions are reviewed by a Programming Committee composed of local artists and the museum/gallery Board of Directors. Most exhibtions are two months in duration and can be solos, duos, or group shows. We hold approximately five exhibitions each year and are normally booked one year in advance.
We welcome submissions from both emerging and established artists and groups of artists; it is not necessary to have exhibited your work previously for an exhibition at the Alex Dufresne Gallery.
Submissions must include the following:
1) A brief artist's statement describing the body of work that you are proposing to exhibit
2) A curriculum vitae or resume
3) 10-20 images of your work. Images may be submitted as hard copy or photographs or as a CD of digital images in .jpeg format
4) Image List: Please number all images, hard-copy or digital, and indicate their title, date, medium, and size on an accompanying image list
5) A self-addressed stamped envelope
